About getting involved in Fortnite and games

ComicBook.com: How You Ended Up Sharing fortniteSoundwave series in the first place? Do you play the game?

Yes, I’ve played that before. That’s why when Epic sent me an invite, I said I would.

Were you a great player growing up? Do you play a lot of games other than that?

I’ve loved video games since I was little. It all started when I was five years old. My first console was the Famicom…or rather the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). Since then I have become a player. I actually knew fortnite They were already doing shows even before they settled on the Soundwave moniker for their Soundwave series. The invitation surprised me because it came so suddenly, but I’m really looking forward to it. I am very happy to be able to participate in this event and perform.

About what he hopes to achieve with the event

Now obviously Epic Games have their own reasons for doing these kinds of collaborations, but for you personally, what do you hope to achieve by participating in this specific collaboration, and what does it mean to you to be asked at all?

I’m thinking of fortnite As a great virtual space, as well as a golden opportunity, for many people around the world to meet and listen to the music of an individual artist simultaneously. That’s why I wish to use the platform fortnite He gave me sharing my music with people who had never listened to my songs before. Also, my fans are scattered all over the world and I haven’t had many opportunities to meet them, which is why I’m glad that the Soundwave series will finally allow me to have a virtual meeting with everyone. In short, I just want to share my music with as many people as possible, including first time listeners.

Without getting into the creative or technical side of this, would you say this process was pretty smooth?

Well … I received my invitation a very long time ago, you see. So I’ve been waiting impatiently the whole time, wondering when that will happen. Since I knew the Soundwave series would be an event that would feature artists from different countries, I’ve been working through performance and video ideas for this event the whole time. I’m so happy everyone will soon be experiencing what the Epic team and I have been working on for the past six months.

Do you participate in this fortnite Perhaps the project inspired you to do more collaborations with other gaming platforms in the future?

I think there will be more opportunities to participate in similar events in the future. with fortnite At the forefront of events like this, I feel that more and more events focused on musical performances will take place within the gaming arena. I would like to participate in other events too if I get the chance.

In Fortnite paving the way for collaborations like this

Do you think this kind of international collaboration is the future of gaming, and more recently, music in particular? This seems to be getting more tangled up over time and will only increase. What kind of future do you think this object will have? he is fortnite Paving the way for every other game in your opinion?

yes I do. If there is an escalation of events such as fortnite The Soundwave series, will breathe some new life into both virtual and real music events. I think we’re going to see a boom in live performance opportunities in games and across the bands, with live performances in the body becoming a more unique spectacle than ever.

When I play games, even if I see my character in a third person perspective, I feel like I’m actually inside the game. The same goes for concerts in games. It’s as if the people attending my virtual Soundwave Series concert are actually attending a real “Gen Hoshino” concert. I want them to enjoy it just like it was the real deal. So when I go on my next world tour and make stops around the world, I hope they’ll come see me again in person, too.

On Spy x Family

With the gears shifting a bit, I have to ask: How do you feel, your reception Spy family x The theme of the end and the success of the show? How does it feel to be a part of that?

IM so happy. By the way, are you watching Spy family x?

Oh yeah, sure I’m watching Spy family x. This interview was apparently set up last week, so I was familiar with your music before accepting the interview, so I was very excited.

I’m glad to hear that. You see, I was already reading Spy family x Mango. So I was very surprised when I was asked to write the end topic because I had just finished reading the latest version at that very moment. I really liked the source material, so I immediately said, “I’ll do it!”

The Spy family x The staff asked me to write a song based on the word “family,” so I wrote the song “comedy” with that in mind. Spy family x It’s a very popular manga, so I knew there was going to be some kind of commotion, but all the hype it made took me by surprise.

I am very pleased to see that people from all over the world, despite their linguistic and cultural differences, can groove with the groove and liveliness of ‘comedy’, the meaning behind its words, and the raw feelings I put into it, many leaving comments on YouTube, Instagram and Twitter in their own words .

on writing music for anime

You obviously made music that was in the animation and wasn’t in the animation, so is this process different in any meaningful way or is it just… you’re writing a good song?

I often write theme songs for movies and TV series, but in terms of my creative process, writing an anime-themed song isn’t much different.

No matter the business, there is always a central theme. It is crucial to understand what the work is trying to convey, what kind of atmosphere it is trying to convey, and what the creator was thinking when he wrote it. First, I find the main features that resonate with my central ideas and philosophy, and then I put them into a single piece of music.

On his favorite spy character x family

Saying that you were a fan of the manga before the anime was quoted, do you have a favorite character?

Let’s see… Of course, my favorite Forger family will be: Lloyd, Yor, Anya and Bond. But everyone loves them, so I guess they don’t count. (Laugh)

True, of course, fair enough. Who can choose?

makes sense. (Laugh) Then I will say… Sylvia Sherwood. There are moments in the story that show brief glimpses into her tragic and horrific past, but basically she never lets that dark side come to light. She is always smiling and supports Lloyd. I am really attracted by her background. I’d like to see a show centered around it.

About how it feels to be a part of both Spy x Family and Fortnite

The timing on this couldn’t be better, right? Spy family x presents your song as its end theme, fortnite It’ll shine a light on you – how does it feel when you’re in one of the biggest games in the world at the same time you’re contributing to one of the season’s most anticipated anime adaptations? Is it a surreal feeling?

This kind of thing happens a lot in my life. For example, the timing for this Soundwave series came about because I got busy with other work after getting the invite, and Epic Games suggested we keep it a little later. Of course, I didn’t plan Spy family x to be broadcast around the same time. It was a strange coincidence that these two amazing opportunities to bring people together collide the way it did.

I consider myself an incredibly lucky person. I’ve had many moments in my life where the timing of things was perfect. So, I don’t really think it’s fancy or weird. “Wow, something wonderful is in the works!” Feelings like these are an ever-present aspect of my life. This coincidence is an example of that. It is very fun and makes me happy.

last thoughts

Any message you would like to share with fans?

I would like to tell all the people who followed the Soundwave series and listened to my music for the first time to give my other songs a listen too. I am glad that I was able to meet and interact with so many people through this event. This was all possible because of the passion he showed fortnite – A great game by the way – and its Soundwave series is about connecting music and games. I think it is creating a whole new culture, and it is an honor and pleasure for me to be involved in it. I hope you all will take this opportunity to experience a lot of my music.

And to all of you who have listened to my music for some time, please look forward to it. I played a variety of songs and the performance was good, so please check it out inside the game.

Thank you.
