One of Apex Legends Mobile’s first post-launch event, the Live Fire event, is now available to players of the widely popular mobile version of Respawn’s hit royale. Players who complete the event will get some free loot, including the R-99 skin exclusive for mobile. Keep reading for details on how to complete the Live Fire event and get each free reward.
When you log in, you will be met with a splash screen to announce the event. Select Go and you will be taken directly to the event page. But if you accidentally click on the ad and are having trouble navigating the somewhat crowded and confusing Apex Legends Mobile user interface, you can also go to the event page manually. From the main lobby screen, select the Season event page, located on the left side of the lobby screen, just below the news slides.
You will then be taken to Season Navigation, where you will see information about all current and upcoming Apex Legends Mobile events. In the right column of the event list (located just below the Grow Your Squad event) is the Live Fire event, which is easily recognizable by the R-99 pictured in its ad image. Once you select a Live Fire event, you will be taken to the event’s challenge page and the free rewards tracking page.
Unlike many events in the console/PC version of Apex Legends, the Live Fire event challenges are identical for each player. All challenges require players to perform specific feats in battle with specific weapons, but fortunately, it’s not too difficult to perform. The Live Fire event consists of the following six SMG-based challenges:
- Deal 500 damage with Volt SMG
- Deal 800 damage with the generator
- Kill 6 enemies with the R-99 plane
- Deal 200 damage with Prowler SMG in a single match
- Down enemies 15 times using any SMG
- Deals 2000 cumulative damage with any SMGs
The challenges themselves are fairly straightforward, but here are some tips that will help you finish the event challenges as quickly as possible:
Play Team Deathmatch or Arenas. While Challenges can be completed in any game mode (Except for the Firing Range/Free Practice modes), completing challenges in Battle Royale mode will likely take much longer than doing so in Team Deathmatch or Arenas modes, which allow players to choose their preferred weapons rather than relying on random loot.
Play the right legend. The Live Fire event can be completed with any legend, so it’s always best to choose one that works for you – but some legends have more advantages than others when it comes to this event. We’ve had better luck using Bloodhound (which are invaluable tracking abilities in nearly every mode), Mirage (who can easily escape when things get hot, and extract enemies hiding with his traps), and Gibraltar (whose Gun Shield helps significantly when it comes to taking down enemies without to fall first).
Completing each challenge will help you 20 Challenge Points. Live Fire event rewards are as follows:
- 15 Challenge Points: Players receive 3000 Season Coins, which can be spent on cosmetics in the Seasonal Store.
- 35 Challenge Points: Unlock the bullet gun magic.
- 60 Challenge Points: Players receive 4000 Season Coins.
- 85 Challenge Points: Players receive 100 Flux, which can be used to craft legendary skins in the crafting section of the in-game store.
- 120 Challenge Points: Unlocks a rare-class laser engraved weapon cover for the R-99.
In general, it is not very difficult to complete the Live Fire event, even if you are new to Apex Legends or mobile games. But if you’re hoping to get all the event rewards, you might want to go ahead, as the Live Fire event is only played from May 25 to May 30. However, if you end up early, there are still more goodies to earn.
